Giro d'Italia 2017

Amore infinito for the new route of the Giro d’Italia. The launch event saw many VIPs from across sport, show business, local authorities, sponsors and media, including: Gimondi, Indurain, Baldini, Pambianco, Adorni, Motta, Moser, Savoldelli, Simoni, Cipollini (the record-holder with a staggering 42 stage victories at the Giro), Basso, Nibali, Aru, UCI President Brian Cookson, CONI President Giovanni Malagò, Italian Cycling Federation President Renato Di Rocco and the Mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala.

The race will include six sprint stages, eight stages of medium difficulty climbing, five highly testing climbing stages and two individual time trials (for a total of 67.2km) including the stage that will close the 100th Giro, from the famous Monza racetrack to the Milan Cathedral. The iconic Stelvio Pass is the 2017 Cima Coppi.

Italian cycling legend, Felice Gimondi, said: “In life, as in cycling, a person emerges because he does a job he likes. You have to fight although sometimes you lose, like I did with Merckx. I always tried to defend myself, and when I could, I attacked him. Multiple Grand Tours winner, Miguel Indurain, said: “For me the Giro was always very important, because, in addition to Banesto, all my team’s top sponsors were Italian. In my career I found that you can have friendships with your rivals, even when you compete on a Giro stage, at the end there is always respect – at least there was among the cyclists of my era. Among the cyclists with whom I raced in the Giro, I remember the young Pantani in 1994. Marco was very young but already strong on the climbs, I remember well when he attacked on the Mortirolo stage. Marco was a very shy person, very strong in the mountains from the beginning, but then he improved in the other specialties.” The winner of the last edition of Giro d’Italia, Vincenzo Nibali, said: “It’s a very hard Giro with two very important time trial stages. In this respect it’s very balanced and similar to the ones I’ve won in the past. This Giro will require a lot of energy and you’ll need to be ready from the start.” The Sardinian champion, Fabio Aru, said: “The Big Start from Sardinia is really emotional for me, I still remember the last time when Giro started from the island, I was a kid and had just started racing MTB – I stopped alongside the road to watch the stage. It’s a truly beautiful edition of the Giro that will be uncertain until the end, the fans will see a great show!” The record-holder of stage victories at the Giro with 42, Mario Cipollini, said: “Based on my experience as professional cyclist I can say that Stage 4 will be very important. The Mount Etna finish will be a defining moment of the race: you’ll need to be on top form from the first stage onwards, and you cannot wait until the second week to get in good shape. The first mountain finish will surely tell us who’s going not to win the Giro.”

The track Riding Shotgun is the soundtrack of the official 100th Giro D'Italia promo video.

The Dressmaker

The Dressmaker is an Australian revenge comedy-drama film written and directed by Jocelyn Moorhouse, based on the novel of the same name by Rosalie Ham. It stars Kate Winslet as a femme fatale in the titular role of the dressmaker, Myrtle "Tilly" Dunnage, who returns to a small Australian town to take care of her ailing, mentally unstable mother.

The film explores the themes of revenge and creativity and was described by Moorhouse as "Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven with a sewing machine." The project was first developed in 2000, and Ham wrote a treatment herself. After initial attempts failed, Maslin bought the rights to the novel and hired Moorhouse to direct and write the screenplay.

Production took place in Melbourne and across Victoria, Australia in late 2014. Pecore In Erba

July 2006. Leonardo Zuliani has vanished. The news from Trastevere in Rome turns into a real national emergency, while a huge throng of followers gathers around the young activist’s house. His mother is beside herself with grief and the entire neighbourhood is paralysed. He’s on every tv channel and the authorities all express their solidarity with the family. Many can’t believe it’s true; they prefer to think it’s just one of his stunts. A genius in conveying his ideas, successful cartoonist, visionary fashion designer, cult author, human rights activist: but who is Leonardo deep down? With the help of leading experts and celebrities, the film traces his life, at last casting light on a key figure of our times.

Pecore in erba's director Alberto Caviglia said, "the movie was made to answer one question: is there a new way of speaking about antisemitism nowadays that engages people and increases their awareness of such a delicate topic? This problem, so ancient and unfortunately at the same time so topical, has never really attracted much interest except from a historical point of view. Moreover, in my view modern culture and recent events are making it increasingly hard to identify antisemitism because it often takes forms that are attributed to other impulses. My research was based on a comparison with social developments over the past thirty years and led me to approach the subject satirically, breaking the taboos that were making it impossible for me to tackle it by more classical means. Antisemitism is so deeply rooted that it would be naïve to think it can be spotted only in acts of extreme bigotry and in explicit forms; it is actually far more common and harder to eradicate in its seemingly unconscious manifestations. This film is a way of bringing to light and making fun of this hypocrisy and prejudice (deliberate or otherwise), hopefully prompting reflections on the subtle nuances antisemitism can have and on our way of dealing with it".

"Pecora in Erba" won the "Arca CinemaGiovani" prize and the "Civitas Vitae" prize at Venice Movies Festival.

"Pecora in Erba"'s soundtrack features three tracks from our music catalogues.

Ligabue 'The world that wasn't there'

Life, customs and cosmogonies of the Meso- and South American cultures before Columbus, recounted by more than 230 works of art. A major exhibition tells us about The World that Never Was. Masterpieces from the Ligabue Collection that have never been previously exhibited, precious testimonies of the early Medici collections and international loans accompany us on a spectacular journey through the pre-Columbian civilisations.

The spectacular exhibition being held in Florence from 19 September 2015 to 6 March 2016 at the Museo Archeologico Nazionale is dedicated to ‘The World that Never Was’, to the many different pre-Columbian civilisations that had prospered for thousands of years in those lands. It presents a body of masterpieces almost all being shown for the first time that are an expression of the great civilisations of the so-called Meso-America (most of Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, part of Honduras and of Salvador); and the territory of Panama.

The exhibition describes the Andes (Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia, through to Chile and Argentina): from the Olmec to the Maya and Aztecs; from the Chavin culture to those of the Tiahuanaco and the Moche, through to the Incas.

Promoted by the Centro Studi e Ricerche Ligabue di Venezia and the Soprintendenza per i Beni Archeologici della Toscana-Museo Archeologico Nazionale, produced under the patronage of Ligabue SpA, with the support of the Tuscan regional administration and the Florence city council, the exhibition presents exceptional and unique pieces from the Medici and international collections. Il The main nucleus is a vast selection of works from the ancient American cultures - never before shown - from the Ligabue Collection.

The song Quimey Neuquen (Chancha Via Circuito Remix) by Jose Larralde, is the soundtrack of the event presentation.
